Wendy Waterhouse
BSc (Hons) Podiatry MChS, HCPC Registered
I studied Podiatry at Huddersfield University, gaining a 1st class Honours degree, and also have a degree in Psychology and Art from Reading University.
Prior to opening the clinic, I worked as a Podiatrist in the NHS, Private Clinics and Community Hospitals in the UK and Australia.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) which regulates Chiropodists / Podiatrists. This means you can be sure I am a genuine Chiropodist / Podiatrist, meeting national standards of ongoing training and that you are protected as a patient. HCPC registration is also required by some Health Insurance Companies. You can check my HCPC registration here
Some Background....
My interest in 'Feet' and Chiropody/Podiatry began many years ago, when I worked part time at a shoe shop in Rochdale. Many customers would ask for help in finding shoes that accommodated bunions and overlapping toes. I enjoyed helping these customers, and was never phased by their 'foot issues'. Consequently, I decided to go back to University in order to become a qualified Podiatrist.
Lots of people ask 'Why would I want to be a Chiropodist?' Its an unusual job to many, but to be able to relieve someone's foot pain and have patients say 'I'm walking on air' is a wonderful feeling and gives me a lot of job satisfaction.
